If beer is your thing, there’s an event with your name on it coming up in Modesto. In addition, a home and garden tour fundraiser for the Carnegie Arts Center includes a special evening tour of a 1940s home that’s separate from the rest of the sites. Modesto will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, along with other entertainment options the week of May 7-14. Here’s a look at some of what’s planned.
Brewfest
There will be more than 150 brews to sample at the Central Valley Brewfest, along with art and music. There also will be a VIP wine sampling tent. The event is for age 21 and older only.

Cinco de Mayo
South Modesto Businesses United presents its annual Cinco de Mayo parade on Crows Landing Road with floats featuring local businesses, youth groups, horses and more. The route is from Olivero Road to Glenn Avenue.

Home and garden tour
A craftsman cottage, a midcentury ranch, an artist’s retreat and more highlight the Carnegie Arts Center’s 2022 Art of Design: Home & Garden Tour. The event in Turlock includes inside and outside self-guided tours of five homes that represent a variety of styles and sizes. On Friday, May 13, a special evening fundraiser, the Twilight Tour, will take place at a sixth location, one of Turlock’s classic 1940s homes. This home will not be part of the Saturday tour. Proceeds from the events support the Carnegie Arts Center.

Country at Fruit Yard
Two weekends of country music come to the Fruit Yard. On May 7, Brett Young plays with guest Matt Ferranti. On May 14, catch Trace Adkins with guest Craig Morgan. Only limited seating remained available at press time for both shows.

Rock revue
Neil Berg’s 50 Years of Rock & Roll brings stories and music to the Gallo Center, with tributes to iconic rock stars, groups and genres, and the hits made over the years. The revue is performed by Broadway singers.

Celtic Woman
Grammy-nominated group Celtic Woman returns to the Gallo Center with a new show, “Postcards from Ireland.” The performance celebrates the musical and cultural heritage of Ireland through story and song.

“Top Girls”
Prospect Theater Project stages the play “Top Girls,” which follows an ambitious executive and the moral compromises she makes as she climbs the corporate ladder. The play invites audiences to define what feminism means and examine the price women often pay for success.

Ceres festival
