Fort Sisseton Historic Festival: 5-9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Fort Sisseton Historic State Park, 11907 434th Ave. Lake City. Cavalry troops and infantry units converge on the grounds and form a military encampment with soldiers, women, children and all the necessary tents, uniforms, horses and memorabilia. The festival covers the gamut of frontier life and settlement and features fiddle music, historic figures, an art and craft show, a melodrama stage show and music from the Civil War.
