The Sioux Falls School District is partnering with a local concert promotion company to add funding and local musicians to the district’s new guitar class.
As part of the partnership, Pepper Entertainment will donate $1 from each ticket sold for all Sioux Falls concerts the company promotes through the end of 2023.
The company also donated a Jon Bon Jovi-signed guitar to the district, which Lincoln High School student Jack Simpson played during the school board meeting on Monday night.
Pepper Entertainment will also work to get local musicians to schools, with the release noting that Kory Van Sickle from Kory & the Fireflies is on board to work with students.

The guitar course currently has 145 students enrolled since being announced earlier this spring.
“I’ve always wanted to create a charitable component to the Pepper brand,” president and CEO Jered Johnson said in a news release. “Having attended Sioux Falls Public Schools, I’m honored to participate in the program and help kids pursue their dream of music.”
